Why We Build

We build because we believe that the universe should exist - 
That there should be something instead of nothing.

We build to step outside of ourselves. 
Because our bodies are poor containers for ideas. 
Because we need release.

We build to pass the time. 
To fill the empty spaces.
To lose ourselves. 

We build because we feel. 
Because we must. 
Because we do.

We build for ourselves. 
To mark our existence. 
To whisper to the universe - "I was here".

We build in all things:
A painting. A business. A family. A life.

And as we build, we too take shape
Bit by bit,
Day by day.
